The best way to destroy joy or pleasure is to constantly seek it. The same about living life to the fullest, you can OD on life, just as much as any drug.

Try to find a balance between your studies, preparing for your future, and being sensitive to the moment, your friends, and caring for others. It takes some effort but it is worth finding that balance.

Good luck.

Yes, carpei diem. Seize the day, or more probably in the original Latin, grip time. Grasp the day before grasps you, expect the unexpected, make the best use of your time good or bad.

Leuconoe, don't ask--it's forbidden to know--

what end the gods will give me or you. Don't play with Babylonian

fortune-telling either. Better just deal with whatever comes your way.

Whether you'll see several more winters or whether the last one

Juppiter gives you is the one even now pelting the rocks on the shore with the waves

of the Tyrrhenian sea--be smart, drink your wine. Scale back your long hopes
to a short period. Even as we speak, envious time

is running away from us. Seize the day (Carpe diem), and trust as little as possible in the future.

Carpe Diem is very attracting. But I ask you a question: have you thought if this way of living is really going to bring pleasure to your student life? Maybe it doesn't, maybe it does. I know examples for both.

My advise: be wise and measured in all you do. Don't decide in a rush. Find people who know. Get informed. Take care. Don't grasp to ideas without questioning them. Don't follow people without kwnowing them well.

Finally, and this is really a personal advise, seek God with your heart but also with your mind (with reason), and depend on his will, which he promises is comforting and perfect.

There's nothing more to carpe diem then its translation. You have to make it meaningful for yourself.

If you can't I suggest watching Groundhog Day and Dead Poets Society on loop for a week for every moment of despair. See how long it takes.

Here (ring ring) puppy, salivate for me... good puppy.
