I'm looking for a book that explains the differences between communist, democratic, facist, marxist, nazi etc. Preferably something easy to read. Any recommendations?

I've provided a link below which explains the various political doctrines in brief.

The second link is to "The Cambridge History of 20th Century Political Thought", edited by Terence Ball and Richard Bellamy, which will give you a good grounding.

The third link is to a book by William N Loucks, which is comparing some of the systems you have mentioned. You will probably have to spread your reading over several books to get a richer comparison.

Have you read "Animal Farm" by George Orwell? It's highly readable and a wonderful political satire.
