I basically means there is a build up of fluid around the plexus's in the brain...
They will do another scan in 4weeks to watch it's progress, and they might preform a Amnio.
The internet isn't really a good help becuase there is soo little information out there...

i was just wondering if anyone else had them and can tell me some positive things... i pretty bumbed atm~

I'm 31 weeks, and at about 18 weeks, I was in the hospital for a kidney stone. They did an ultrasound on the baby just to make sure she was ok (i hadnt had an ultrasound yet, it was scheduled for a week later). and i found out that she had a Choroid Plexus Cyst. I know how scary it is to find out something like that. I asked my nurses and the Dr. on the floor, and none of them had heard of it. So i researched it online. Most people hear CPC, and they automatically think about chromosomal problems, such as Downs Syndrome. But after researching it, i found that the link between CPC and such abnormalities isnt definite. It could be a developmental period that the baby's brain goes through. Its still unknown why CPCs occur. Its only been linked to chromosomal abnormalities because some babies with them also had/have CPCs. But not all with CPCs have them either.
In most cases, CPCs resolve themselves by around 24 weeks. I went for my normal OB appt and he ordered another ultrasound to make sure the CPC on my baby hadn't grown, or that she hadnt developed another. When I went in for the ultrasound, the CPC was gone. It had already resolved itself.
I know how scary it is to hear something like that. I've been through it. But I can tell you the best thing you can do is just wait it out. It's more common for them to go away to turn into meaning something worse.
Its a rough thing to go through, but theres really nothing to worry about as of now. Just hope and pray for the best, and I'm sure everything will be just fine. I'm sure you'll have a completely normal and totally healthy baby. Just wait and see and then go from there. Its really the best thing you can do. Good Luck and Best Wishes!

I'm so sorry, I don't know what CPC is, but I would imagine that it's terrifying as a soon to be parent. My little guy (23 weeks) was not very cooperative at my 18 week scan, so it took over an hour! I would absolutely talk to your doctor and maybe do some research on the internet. WebMD usually has some great info on stuff like that...
Sending prayers for your blob!!

A common finding that is associated with chromosome problems are one or more fluid pockets in the choroid glomi. These cysts are NOT important. They always go away. BUT, choroid cysts (big enough to be seen on ultrasound) are associated with an small but definitely increased chance of chromosome problems (especially, but not only, extra chromosome trisomy,#18). Trisomy 18 is a lethal dosorder which often has few structural findings, so that any clue that it might be present is an indication for amniocentesis. In most cases of choroid plexus cysts, the amnio will be normal, emphasizing the primary role of genetic testing. The choroid glomi are paired structures that produce cerebro-spinal fluid, which is a sugar rich material that bathes the brain and spinal cord, nourishing and supporting nerve cell growth. Both choroid glomi are the first structures to be identified ultrasonically within the head, being visible 6 weeks after conception. Seeing paired and equal sized choroid glomi confirms that the brain is developing in two halves. (A single chamber kind of brain is one of the worst developmental malformations, and goes by the term, "holoprosencephaly").

I cant believe your Dr hasnt discussed this with you further probe him for answers and further testing. I wish you the best of luck.

I have never heard of CPC, but I understand about not being able to find much information. My friend has a daughter with Angelman's Syndrome and we have to explain to every doctor what it is because nobody knows what it is. I did find some pages for you.

I hope this helps. Keep your head up, and treasure the gift God has given you.

blob? you mean your baby? Your doctor should be the one to explain any of your questions about CPC, I have never heard of that condition.
