When you eat, the glucose level goes up in your body and it stimulates the baby, wakes them up. They usually become very active after meals. Later in pregnancy when the baby isn't moving and the doctor is concerned they usually give you orange juice to jack up your blood glucose for the same reason. To wake the baby up.
It's reconfirmation that your baby is alive and kicking.
