I assume that you mean:
6 – (root20/2)
= 12/2 – (root20/2)
= (12 - root20)/2

I could have answered this question when I was a child, but the internet didn't exist back then. Didn't I just answer your other question a couple of minutes ago? Anyway, here's the answer: 3-√5. 6/2=3, and √20=√(4*5)=2√5. Divide that by 2, and you're left with 3-√5.

Three possible solutions:
6 - √(20/2) = 6 - √10

6 - (√20)/2 = 6 - √(20/4) = 6 - √5

(6 - √20)/2 = 3 - √5

Hi:

I hope this is right :

(6-Sqr(20))/2 = x

20 = 4 *5

so:

Sqr(4)= 2 and The Sqr(20)= 2*Sqr(5)

So

(6-(2*Sqr(5))/2 = x

Sqr(5) = 2.236067978

So

(6-((2*Sqr(5)))/2 = x

(6-(4.472135955))/2 = x

1.527864045/2 = x

0.763932023 = x

Proof:

(6-Sqr(20))/2 = x

(6-Sqr(20))/2 * 2 = 2*x

6-Sqr(20) = 2*x

6-Sqr(20) + Sqr(20)= 2*x+Sqr(20)

6= 2x+Sqr(20)

So :

6= 2*0.763932023 +Sqr(20)

6= 1.52786405+Sqr(20)

6= 1.52786405 + 4.47213596

6 = 6

So

x= .763932023 is the Correct Answer for this problem

For increasing cubic binomials the final formulation is as follows: (a + b) ^ 3 = a^3 + 3*a^2*b^a million + 3*a^a million*b^2 + b^3 on your case, a is x and b is -y^5 So (x - y^5)^3 = x^3 + 3*x^2*(-y^5)^a million + 3*x^a million*(-y^5)^2 + (-y^5)^3 Simplified: =x^3 - 3x^2*y^5 + 3x*y^10 - y^15 :D
