I can only speak for myself when I say that I actually spend time writing these answers. I try to be thoughtful and not flippant when I answer, whether or not they are truthful, I don't know, but they are what I think/believe.

If you are fooled by an answer, isn't that more on you? If something doesn't sound right, check it out - or ignore it.

In this forum, as with any medium which is open to the 'unwashed masses', you are going to get your... well... unwashed masses and their unwashed opinions which might be stated as fact.

What makes me think that I am not a member of the 'unwashed masses'? Um.... I use spell check and (fairly) proper grammar?

The answers here are posted to " woman's studies ", so expect much that is ideologically driven opinion and not a great deal of answers produced by the hypothitco-deductive method. Other than that, I do not think you will receive outright lies that often.

If you want a good answer, the best thing to do is to ask a good question. You can keep out most know-nothings by posting a quesiton that isn't appetizing to them, or by phrasing it in a way that only an expert on the subject would be able to interpret. Nevertheless if you ask a question on a controversial topic (evolution, race, politics), you're bound to get a few people who don't think before they answer.

I come here truely wanting to help someone. When I post a question I truely hope for help and guidence. Unfortunatly there are people here that screw around and think it's funny. It's funny to post silly question and get sillier answers, but it's not funny to ask a serious question and get someone poking fun, etc. So, use your judgement, or the majority of the answers. :)

i say both.. the answers can be truthful and yet given by an idiot(s)... should you then expect to be fooled.. if you can be fooled by idiots then you know the answer (perhaps you dont know... its yes)

It is fairly easy to pick out the idiots and which are serious answers to a question. True some just want to be pest and not offer up any real solution to the question

Most of them are truthful. But if you can be fooled by idiots, then prepare to be fooled every now & then.

My experience is that I always got true and to the point answer whether correct or not . I think "this is give and take" if u will give a nice question to ask....u will get nice answer and same is the case if u reverse.

When you post a question, expect to get a bit of both.

I am a university student and both my parents have masters and my mom is working on her doctorate. So i am not a idiot or a fool.

I try to answer with thought full and answers that I would want. Of course I like to be snip and funny but only when the question is idiotic.

I also consult newspapers and speak three languages, English, Spanish and Mandarin
