All music is a form of communication. Even instrumental music is a form of communication. Sometime we may not understand the message, but it is still communication. Music conveys ideas, emotions, even opinions and attitudes.

Pure music is but interesting sounds. Communications involves a round-trip, a message and response, so for that you need people, and people don't make pure music.

yes i think its a form of communication, see how love is expressed through love songs, see how broken a heart is conveyed through the tune and lyrics of the song....for some, music is an outlet of emotions (be it a happy or sad one)

absolutely. if i ask someone do you like this song or do you like that song theyll be like yea that songs great but if i ask them to tell me the lyrics they wont know two words. the lyrics tells the whole story just most people listen to the beats n rythms rather to the words so theyy dont get it. songs can try to say things about one another, express feelings that you can relate to your own life exc.

of course!
love, tenderness, freindship, hatred, anger, disrespect, envy, lust, war... man, you've got me doing the haka in my head now

humans were probably making music to communicate before language developed.

SURE JUST LOOK AT ALL OF THE LOVE SONGS. WE SHARE THEM WITH THE ONE WE LOVE. ALSO YOU CAN LEARN DIFFERENT LANGUAGES WHEN YOU LISTEN TO THE WORDS IN A SONG.
