To be classified as a "true" mineral, a substance must be a solid and have a crystal structure. It must also be an inorganic, naturally-occurring, homogeneous substance with a defined chemical composition.

Element class of Minerals -
The Elemental group includes metals and intermetallic elements (gold, silver, copper), semi-metals and non-metals (antimony, bismuth, graphite, sulfur). This group also includes natural alloys, such as electrum (a natural alloy of gold and silver), phosphides, silicides, nitrides and carbides (which are usually only found naturally in a few rare meteorites).

The following is a table and metal's application-

ALUMINIUM - UTENSILS, BAKEWARE, LAWN FURNITURE

BRASS - FIXTURES, HARDWARE, LAMPS, DECORATIVE ITEMS

BRONZE - LAMP BASES, BOOKENDS, SCULPTURES.

CAST IRON - COOKWARE, GARDEN FURNISHINGS, FIREPLACE ACCESSORIES .

CHROME(CHROMIUM) - PLATING ON EXTERIOR FIXTURES, CAR PARTS, APPLIANCES

COPPER - COOKWARE, DECORATIVE ITEMS FOR HOME AND GARDEN

GOLD - JEWELRY, PLATING AND GILT ON DECORATIVE ITEMS

NICKEL - FIXTURES FOR KITCHEN AND BATH

PEWTER - DECORATIVE ITEMS AND SERVING PIECES

SILVER - FLATWARE, HOLLOW WARE, JEWELRY

STAINLESS STEEL - FLATWARE, SINKS, COOKWARE

TIN - TOLE WARE, COOKIE CUTTERS, DECORATIVE ITEMS

There is not one mineral which comprises all metals.

Look at a periodic table of elements in your chemistry book. The vast majority of these elements, below the short families at the top, are metals... there are a hundred or so different metallic elements and thousands if not millions of different compound metals. Minerals are types of rocks which have metallic compounds and / or elements.

Hi. Metals are produced using many methods, from reducing iron ore to electrical power for aluminum. My guess would be coal or another fossil fuel used for heat and/or power.
