Essentially, yes, you do need to disassemble the carburetor to install most jet kits.

Usually a jet kit will include a selection of main jets, a pilot jet, sometimes a different needle, and sometimes a different needle jet.

It will NOT include detailed instructions on how to install it.

If you'd like to see what the inside of your carb looks like, and what you're going to be dealing with, check this out:

You will need some specialized tools, a very clean work area, and a steady hand to do the parts exchange.

There are some very tiny and delicate parts inside that carb, so be sure you know what you're getting into before you tackle the project.

If you've never done anything like this before, maybe your best option is to have a mechanic do it, and ask if you can watch. That way you'll be able to do it yourself next time.

In regards to the Holley genius -- bud, you've accidentally stumbled into the 'motorcycle' section -- you need to make your way back to the 'old beater car' section.

You do have to take the carb apart, but it's not hard. If you have never done it before and you're not sure of your ability--don't try it yourself. I'll do it for a case of beer.
