is it because it is not untill late adulthood that the frontal lobes of the brain involved in abstract and higher level thinking mature.

And that teenages use the primitive imigdula as opposed to the frontal lobes for reason and emotional thinking and the aformentioned.

I read a lot of things on here that just make me feel sorry for how ignorant and utterly uneducated people really are.

This is why I can't stress enough the importance of a college education.

A lot of people opinions aren't their own but rather just regurgitation what the've been told.

This is why I don't believe in organized religion, I do believe in a higher being.

And people views on reincarnation... how we may only live for a few hours and die as infants but then it off and done with life and the physical world for all eternity!... seems stupid to me.. but that's just my opinion... I can go on...

but what I wanted to know was.....

WHAT ARE YOUR OPINIONS???

thanks

Please keep in mind that the age base of this web site. Which is about 12-16 (you can tell from the grammar and thought process), then weed out those that truly cannot function on a multi-linear basis, then we've got those that just don't think at all...these are reasons I chose not to reproduce.

In retaliation of 'Ben's' response you don't need religion to be spiritually free, you don't need religion to make you do the right thing or be socially conscience, and you can find comfort...solice...and peace in your life without religion.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not "downing" religions. Oh, contraire mon frere...I find religion interesting in the same way I find ancient cultures and societies interesting. Religion for me is part history part mythology and THAT is how schools should teach it.

God did not reach out of the heavens with a red pen and write "gods words" in the bible. A thought was planted in someone's head.

Voice of god? voice of elvis?

To hear one is to hear the voice of divinity the other the and you better get ready for a padded room. I chose to listen to Elvis...

And that's MY opinion.

I am just like you, I don't participate in organized religion but believe in a higher being (and that's the same phrase that I use) but I do believe in reincarnation and a spiritual world

true there are narrow minds & presieved narrow minds, & although I believed at one time wisdom comes with age, many have proven me wrong, A college education can not guarantee wisdom but it's better than none at all, I believe the most educated & wise are quiet,& the narrow minded fools go on & on & on....oops I'll stop here.

You seem to have contempt for religion, and I can understand some of your views on those who just spit out what they are told, but religion is a way of fulfilling one's soul, freeing oneself from the anxieties of a material society, and working for social justice, at least thats what I have found in the Catholic Church. You say you are "open-minded", but remember what you are saying. You are attacking one segment of society, those with religion, that seems very unaccepting and closed to me.
