My name is Emily and I am a 13 year old girl turning 14 soon. I have this major hair problem, I think Im turning bald. I have read about Androgenetic Alopecia, it is the most common type of hair loss in women. It can begin as early as puberty. It usually involves overall hair thinning rather than spot baldness, which is what I have now. What should I do? I have tried seeing a doctor and he recommended me hair growth pills but it didn't seem to work. By the way, I have short hair.

Have you been losing lots of weight lately? If so this could just be a short term side affect. Try combing your hair instead of brushing it and your hair is less likely to fall out. If your hair is weak I would sugest a shampoo designed to make your hair fuller. As a last resort go to the doctors again. Oh, and I had the same problem and taking vitamins made the hair stop falling out. Good luck, I hope that your hair grows back more beautiful later.

I have read so much lately about the uses of apple cider vinegar (Heinz) I remember when I was a girl my dad would tell us to rinse our hair with it and to drink it in this yummy tea reciepe I will give you. Awhile back my scalp was real itchy and I started using it to rinse my hair (it does not leave an odor at all and you will rinse it off at least once again after you use it anyway. I put about a table spoon in a large glass of warm water, my hair is shiny, growing fast and the itchy part has long gone. You should try it! Also drink this tea: Warm a cup of water in the microwave or on the stove to very warm, add 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar (Heinz brand) and 2-3 tablespoons of honey, it tastes like apple cider and cleans out impurities in your body, it is good for diareah, cramps, colds, headaches, bladder and kidney infection so I bet it will help you too I hope and it won't hurt you. Good luck

I know there is a hair and nail vitamin at the GNC stores it's suppose to strengthen those cells. You should just try another hair growth product and see if you have more success...but, if that seems to fail the hair extensions always look really nice and make your hair look long and thick. Good luck sweetie!

Sweetie, ask your parents to take you to another doctor.

It appears as if you have some sort of problem that needs to be addressed, and if the doctor your parents took you to originally did nothing to help, then seek a second opinion. Don't give up on finding a proper diagnosis.

Talk to your parents, and let them know that you are not happy with the results, and have them contact your Dr.
You and your parents can let the Dr. know that the pills that he recommended are not seeming to make a difference. Maybe he will suggest something else for you to try.

See another doctor and get another opinio. It may be a symptom of something else. If the pills arent working, see someone else, soon.
