It's More Like ooh S@#t I'm on fire, Then Panic and then you drop and roll around. I've seen this 4 or 5 times Almost just like I described every time. People panic that's a fact, I've been one of those people so trust me the only reason you drop and roll is because some knocks you down or you trip and fall because your panicking. People just don't know what there going to do till it happens to them.

It's funny that you would bring that up because my oven was smoking real bad yesterday and I thought about what if I reach in there and there's a fire would I remember to stop, drop, and roll. I don't know if I would or not. I'd probably be so freaked out that I was on fire that I'd forget.

You'd sure better remember, or else you're a goner if there's nobody around to put you out!!
Actually, you'd be surprised what you can do in the face of danger. In lots of instances, the rush of adrenaline will enable you to do things you could never do otherwise. I think people go into either shock or panic, and can do nothing, or survival mode and gather their thoughts from within and act upon them. Let's just hope that if it ever happens we will remember what we've been taught since childhood...in the case of fire....stop, drop and roll!!

I accidentally caught the sleeve of my coat on fire while I was wearing it. I didn't stop drop and roll, I started freaking out and smacked myself to put it out. You learn to stop drop and roll, but I was panicking too much to actually do it. The thought didn't even cross my mind.

If you practice it. In a panic the mind will go to whatever the closest memory is of what to do. Just going through the motions a few times will prepare the mind for when the real thing happens.

I think I [will], it's the only method I know of and I've heard so much in my life and I'm convinced that's a sure-fire way of putting the fire out.

Hell no, I'd be too tweaked out that I'm burning to a crisp. I'd be running around and flailing my arms catching the drapes on fire or something.
