Because we all like to hear the Birds. Even if we weren't born in the 60's when the Birds were on the radio.

Some of it is simply social and some of it has to do with attracting a mate...and I'm sure there's a degree of stubbornness in there as well as the fact that the little bastards enjoy waking me up in the morning when I could have been sleeping in....grrrrr
