People will pay exhorbitant prices to watch some, if not illiterate then semi-illiterate jockstrap play a game. Play being the key word, Teachers, Presidents, Firefighters, and Police are performing needed services and yet they receive a very small salary. Some sports figures are paid millions to play and yet people complain when a politician gets a raise to run this country.

Do you really think they earn what they get, my god man I want to work less then half of a year and get paid like they do. On top of all the money from lobbyist and contributors to their campaigns, gees, good thing they didn't ask me if it was ok they raised their pay. I might have said "are you kidding"
Edit: And then turn down a raise in minimum wage. Because it wouldn't be good for the country. Sick.

This is a free country we decide what to do with our money.As for the politicians most of them do the peoples business less than 100 days a year,they desrve not more than $50,000 a year.wwho gets paid for not showing up to work?the politixcians do.

Easy.. Because politicians vote to give themselves huge raises yet refuse to vote to raise the minimum wage which I'd think would raise wages for the middle class as well.

When the servants of the public make 50 x's more than the public they serve there is a problem isn't there . Esp when they don't actually "serve"

Well why didn't you list the team owners who make ooodles more than the athletes. You know why athletes get paid more, because they bring happiness, courage, esteem to our lives. Bush just brings a bad rash.

Not what they are paid, the money they recieve for votes.
Not to mention that athletes are risking injury, and possibly their lives.
