Remember when Rocky Horror first came out?

..I dont because I wasnt born until about nine years later. But for you older people, do you remember when the rocky horror picture show first came out? Was it a big deal (since its still popular to this day) and did you ever see it?

I did see the movie when it first came out, and it was a dud. Not a big deal at all. There was no controversy that I recall. A couple of years later, it was revealed as a cult classic where, I believe in New York people were watching it in the theaters and wearing costumes on weekends as a double feature. Then it caught on and became the multimedia interactive phenomena that it is now, although I think it peaked in the late eighties or early nineties.
I did see it several times in the early eighties, but stopped going because usually some jerk would get stupid and inappropriatly heckle or twice, throw something at the screen, tearing it and banning the film from being shown in our local theaters. But when the audience is cool and goes with the program, it is a good show.

Oh yeah they use to show it at the midnight movies in Houston Texas. Every one would go dressed like their favorite character from the movie and take your bag of goodies to throw at the screen or use at the proper time. I turned my husband on to the movie and it's a Halloween tradition for us to watch it while we're giving out candy.
