How long for a preg. test??

Question

I took a HPT two days after I missed my period, but now I am a week and a couple days past. No sign of a period and I had sex with my husband last night which would normally start my period if it was close. None all day! So how soon should I try and take another test?? My app. is on the 10th. Thanks!!

generally, if you got a negative result with the first test, you would wait 1 week and test again. If still negative, prolly see your doctor. There could be something medical that has nothing to do with a baby, or you may just have low levels of hCG, which could be an indicator of an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy, or it could be perfectly normal

I've had some scares just like this before- almost exactly the same. I've been told before that if you're thinking about being pregnant, or if you think you are, it will actually delay it, just because you're stressing. You could also be late because of various reasons. Lack of- or more than- usual amount of exercise (or sleep), change in diet, change in any prescription drugs you might be taking or just starting to take, even just stress etc... things like that. Here's an insider~ I used to smoke pot on a daily basis a couple years ago, and when I stopped I skipped a whole period and got a pregnancy scare, then the doc told me it was the chemical changes.

I'd try another one in the am. The first test you took could have been an invalid test. I'd use one that detects lower levels of hormones like the First Response. Best wishes.

it would have showed up 2 days after a missed period. it will DEFIANTLY show up now....yes...even if you take it at night. I did, and i has a big fat ( + )!! Good luck
