I want to give out something different, and not just the same junk candy as everyone else. I don't want to contribute to the sugar highs kids experience in early November.

I was thinking of handing out Capri Suns, but I'm open to suggestions.

I suggest going into a party store or the party aisle in Walmart/ KMart and getting lots of party favors like mini-decks of cards, kazoos, mini- tic-tac-toe, mini- checkers, whistles, themed pencils & erasers, balloons (water or regular), fake money, mardi gras beads, plastic hand clappers, fun rubber duckys, party poppers, fake (shock) gum, plush stars, bubble bottles, confetti, etc. Get mini idems and buy them bulk. Kids love them but they don't get cavitites from them, so everyone wins.

I hope this helps. happy halloween!

I have some candy, but this year am also giving out these cool sports-themed pencils, and pens that have the neckcords on them. Other years I have given out stickers, last year I had these little necklaces for girls, etc. Good for you to be able to afford the Capri Suns - we would go broke; we are in a high trick-or-treating traffic area!

Condoms...now thats funny. Prolly get your arrested..but still its funny. The whole point OF halloween IS CANDY. Besides, if its not seriously wrapped and sealed parents just throw it out anyhow. In our neighborhood the candy is small and the scares are huge. Some wonderful woman started the whole thing by opening her home to a bunch of teenagers and letting them spook her yard....and he rest is history. I'd say scare the little dickens, have some fun and if you must... try oriental trading or a similar store...I gave out troll pencil toppers one year BIG BIG HIT. (expect more kids when you give something good). HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Toothbrushes or small inexpensive toys like Mc Donalds gives. Sometimes you can find a pack of 10 at the dollar store. Also rubber stamps from the dollar store (break open the package and give out individually.

I buy my kids candy from them and throw out the candy. I give my kids a penny, nickel or dime for each piece of candy. Instead of spending the money on the candy to give away how about giving money!

I recently bought a huge container of play-doh(64 cans, I think) at Sam's. It was advertised as an alternative to candy and only $9.00. You would pobably spend that much on candy anyway.

Capri Sun is just as bad, though they'd like it..

I recommend going to your local health food store and getting "fruit leather". It's 100% fruit, is still sweet, and won't make you feel guilty.

Just scare them enough so that they will run away. You won't have to give them anything.
