Water is a perfect example. Water can be in all three states of matter, when really hot it is steam (gas) and when really cold it is ice (solid) and anywhere above 32 degrees and below 212 degrees it is a (liquid). The fourth state of matter is (plasma), though I dont think water can be in that state, only the common three.

And guys, fire is not plasma. It is just a glowing gas. Lightning is plasma.
