If you are attaching this to an existing network you should use a professionals so that you do not put your business data at risk. TheHE easy asnwer is add a wireless access point to the LAN and configure it then condigure the wireless clients.

You need several things.

First, you'll need a router. I recommend the linksys wmp54g with the sveasoft (www.sveasoft.com) firmware. The firmware costs 10 bucks (that gets you a year's worth of upgrades), but is well worth it. It will allow you to boost signal strength, set up more interesting security, and all sorts of other nifty stuff.

(Note that this router can't do any 'heavy lifting.' I'd only use it for a wireless network that will contain <20 computers)

You'll probably also need some antennas to go on your router (the antennas you get with it are mostly crap) - if you want this thing to cover any significant area, go for at least 15 dBi of gain. I buy from www.hyperlinktech.com. You'll need to know what kind of antenna connector - the wmp54g uses RP-TNC connectors.

I'm assuming you have an existing LAN. Run a network cable from any port on your LAN's switch to any port in the router that is not the one labeled 'uplink'. This will put the router 'on' your network.

You probably want to set up some kind of access control so joe hacker can't drive by your business and steal your internet. I recommend WPA with a pre-shared key for a small business. If you want something more beefy, look in to setting up a RADIUS server.

Since you seem to want to cover a good area with possibly a lot of walls, filing cabinets, etc, you should think of installing a good antenna, or signal booster placed strategically.

Of course you'll also need the router (compatible with the antenna or the opposite) and wireless adapters for each computer that does not already have one.

all you like is a instant router, i assume your computing device itself has the potential to seize/ acquire instant by way of fact it is new. each and all the instant router does is translate the internet enter into radio frequencies, so no, you dont want one greater plan or provider, in simple terms the router. once you get the router, all you may do it plug the cord from the modem to the router, instead of directly to the computing device. After that, you may call your cyber web provider provider and ask them that may assist you place up the small print of the router. and then..... Your all achieved! sturdy good fortune!
