Best place to go is the bank where you hold an account. They can give you a good loan rate, and they have a stake in making sure the neighborhood you live in improves.

Not knowing where you live puts us in a difficult situation for giving advice on where to find financial help such as you request. If you live in an area where there is any type of Social Services office, you should contact them about such help. In our county in Mich., we have a Commission body that does nothing but handle major home repair requests. They should have plenty of info and help for you.

I would try my home owner's insurance to help with the cost, most home owners insurance covers the roof of your home. Then check the newspaper for handyman's in your area and offer to help do hte job with them. You dont have anything to lose, just something to gain.
