yes I believe they should, I dont think flitting in and out of different constituencies does anything positive for a community, he/she is just a face then on a gravy train.

I'm a Bow and Bethnal Green politics student and it really annoys me that Mr George Galloway can be the MP with absolutely no ties, knowledge or even interest in the area. In fact this constituency is the only one in the entire UK that would have elected him on his party's manifesto. However, I would say that prospective MPs should have at least an interest or residence in their constituency because they are far more likely to be in touch with what the constituents want. I also reckon that the only way to resolve this kind of issue is for the parties to consider local ties when they are putting forward their candidates at election time. Here, Oona King was the best thing to happen here, and in my opinion is more of an MP now than Galloway can ever be. MP should be More than Present, which King still is within the community despite being beaten by Galloway at the ballot box.

George Galloway is my MP, he simply enjoys his celebrity status and plays with the delicate issue of race relations in our community. He has just sold his 825 000 pound house in South London, does he understand what it is like to live here? f course not! We need someone who has lived in this community an genuinely desires it to progress, rather than simply attempting to progress in their own political careers!

i think of many of the backbenchers are and do their maximum suitable for people who they characterize. slightly element is that one and all individuals are addressed as honourable yet while they have held a value interior the forces the form of reference is i think of Gallant. A perfect Honourable is a member of the Privy Council. you will sometimes hear the best Minister furnish to short the chief of her Majesty's unswerving opposition on Privy Council words. If this occurs and he concurs the briefing can not be used in debate and so that's refused oftentimes. cupboard Ministers and that i think of the chief of the competition are privy councillors and the appointment is often for existence and as quickly as a flesh presser is out of government or politics that's an honour in easy terms.

In my opinion it would be preferable to have a local person as M.P. But I think it is equally important that the prospective candidate should have to take a test on his/her knowledge of the constituency they intend to represent

Are you one of those anti-Scot British that they have been talking about in the news? (i.e. Slate.com)
This is a common feature of British politics, unfortunately. On the bright side of the British parliamentary system, the party in power does have a clear mandate and it is able to get a lot of things done. However, you do have to deal with people like Tony Blair who has arguably stayed past his prime ;)
