My friend is asian. I was doing a project with her we were a 4 man team. three people were asian and only i was the only non-asian person. My friend said that she wanted to be a 3 man team so she said to me to leave her team but 2 minutes later, I saw an asian girl asking her if she could join and my friend said yes. For some reason I feel so insulted. Is this discrimination.

Some people like to stick to their own kind.
Did you ever look around school and notice the cliques?

you were just shown that how true of a friend she really is. I'd let her know that you were hurt by her actions. If she feels she didn't do anything wrong, then maybe she's giving you signs that she doesn't want to be friends with you anymore, and if that is the case, then move on. There are other friends for you out there. Just don't let this one girl hold you back. Keep your head up high and be done with it.

Maybe she thought the project would go smoother if all team members spoke the same language, or maybe she is just a bit nervous.
Or, maybe, just maybe, though I think its unlikely, she was thinking about how you might feel being the ONLY non-asian.
It all would depend on the person.

it's the herd mentality. Just ignore her. Don't give up hope yet. To survive in this world, you have to live with people you don't like. If you can handle this, nothing can stop you from doing what you do. SO what if she hates you. it's mean yes but don't let her actions hurt you. I think that was mean of her to be prejudice but forget her.

Is this a work project or a school project? If so, then report this situation to your boss or teacher. This is just NOT right!!!

Oh yes, she was. She was also just plain mean, asking you to leave! I would feel hurt, too.

It's discrimination and it's also extremely rude. Shame on her.

If she is your friend, then you don't assume the worst. You go ask her about it. Maybe it will be revealing about your relationship, maybe it won't.
