I have a 1999 Chevy Blazer with about 80000 miles on it and all in all it is in very good shape, but during the last two times it rained out the service engine soon light stayed on but the next day when the rain cleared so did the engine light.... what would cause this?

Thanks for any help.

i own a repair shop, and i have a truck that has a 4.3 engine in it,im betting yours is the same, and mine was doing it on me , i had to replace the the coil on it ,somehow it was getting wet ,or drawing moisture on it,and it would make the check engine light come on,after i replaced it ,i never had any problems out of it,yours could be a different sensor causing it,what you need to do is check all the things that hook up,or have a connection point on it,,somewhere under the hood you,ll find a sensor that is drawing moisture ,and causing this to happen,id check the throttle position sensor connection real good, and the map sensor on it these are In a place that they could draw moisture, and cause it to do that, good luck i hope this will help.if you,ll take your time with it,you will find it,but it will take some time,

My guess is that there is something else wrong with your car. You take it in, the tech fixes something and resets the check engine light. Then after awhile the computer senses the problen still exists and engages the check engine light again.
