When you begin to mature. Youll get hair under your arms, on your private area and youll begin to get breasts. Youll start your period. Its just your body telling you that youre growing up.

For a boy, its quite the same, getting hair in these areas, and he begins to feel that thing between his legs...lol.

It's a general term to describe the process whereby the body becomes sexually mature and capable of reproduction. Actually it begins much sooner than people think, about 8 years old. The body gradually begins to produce hormones that mature the sex organs and other parts of the body. It results in girls developing breasts and boys larger (hopefully) external organs. As the testes mature they produce testosterone which leads to the development of muscles and growth spurts.

Basically girls bodies are prepared to produce babies and boys bodies bigger and stronger to better provide for the girls the babies.
