That sounds nice however it would be pretty hard to pull off.
Plus you know you have a very wide range of ages here from young adults to grandparents...........not that I cannot appreciate friendships of all ages.
If it could be done it would be interesting however you would probably have many different people there for many different reasons that could make it very uncomfortable too.
Oh! and blackbird you sound like an interesting person, what is that comment all about?

I would have to say Seattle Washington....It is pretty much centralized with all the states especially where I am from Alaska..That would be real cool...A National Convention for Gays/Lesbians....in some isolated area to accommodate a large number....Let's start an organization and start planning a convention to meet with each other and who knows something wonderful might happen... Since going on to this page, I have made some terrific friends who care....

just make sure you're smart and careful. meet in a public place, drive your own car, let other people know where you're going and who with and make sure whomever your meeting knows you told someone, if you can bring another friend thats even better. unfortuantely predators and their ilk use the internet to find victims and while thats a very small percentage of people online i wouldn't want anything to happen to ya cutie! now keep my advice in mind but have a wonderful time. i think an interllectual convention spring break isn't really th eplace to get to know someone it's more about drinking and tricking.there are tons of spiritual/intellectual events all over the country, if you need suggestions just ask :)

St. Louis here, if you hurry you can join us for Spanksgiving, a pansexual BDSM convention in Nov.
And a footnote. I'm too old to be cool, and yes I have better things to do, and I do them. However when I can, this helps me keep my typing up as I had a stroke in April and lost most of my right side. Those people that have appreciated my answers and seem to be able to get something out of what I have to offer, makes dealing with the arrogant and the eternally pessimistic worth it.
There are worse things people could be doing, like watching tv.

We did that 15 years ago when the Gay Lesbian Room on AOL had a bunch of regulars.
Turned out to be not so great.

Hey, it's going on winter in the States. How 'bout if we meet up somewhere warm down under? Say, somewhere tropical with warm water and exotic drinks... :)

by "cool" you of course mean young hipsters with I-pods & headphones into all the latest trendy crap.. Doesn't sound like anyone I'd like to hang out with. I enjoy meeting people who are different, non-conformists, who are into things that gay men are usually NOT into. Like God, & Bible, & spirituality & theology & the SERIOUS concerns of life, rather than what Beyonce is doing, what's the latest music to download, & all the superficial youth culture. I like persons who don't CONSTANTLY have to giggle & laugh & party & show off their figures & trendy clothes & DISPLAY themselves. In other words, I enjoy humble, unpretentious people who are willing to do a different thing & follow a different road than the shallow youth of today. People who are NOT materially focused & don't judge by the exterior of who's hot & who's not.
By the way - I made the gay scene for years & years - and my opinion is this : Most gay men have personas with all the charm of a can of dried worms.!!! I never experienced much of lesbians but I mean what I said about gay men. I found more spirituality in ex-cons who served time for several murders than I did among trendy, "hot" gay partyboys.
