Both programs are excellent. Webroot's Spy Sweeper has been named top antispyware application by PC World Magazine two years in a roll (2005 and 2006). Window Washer is also an excellent privacy tool. Though there are several decent free software programs, none of them are as accurate and reliable as Spy Sweeper and Windows Washer. At $15, it is a great bargain. Spy Sweeper alone costs $29.00.

Concurring with “All about Winston”. If anything make sure they come from legitimate official site and are not muck up Trojans.
By the way according to some past Eric Howels studies, it is recommended that you use more than few Anty Spywares. I would get free SpyBot and AdAware as well.

Norton is great HOWEVER... It doesnt catch everything, and it slows your computer down to a hog.. If your computer isnt the "state of the art"...
I had Norton and I uninstalled it, installed AVG and it caught like 50 viruses that Norton didnt find.. *edit* Well Ad-aware and Spybot helped greatly on that part too.. *edit*-
Well I know you dont want to hear my Happily ever after sob story soo let me tell you straightforward.
If you want to pay, and you have an amazing computer, go Norton Firewall...
If you want to pay big bucks for an amazing virus catcher go Nod32 or Kaspersky's Antivirus..
If you just want dirt cheap and very decent virus protection go Avast or AVG..
For firewall if you dont want to pay, go ZoneAlarm Free...
For spyware, if you again.. dont want to pay... Go SpyBot Search & Destory PLUS Ad-Aware...
But you can find some very good protection for payment, that you must research on your own...
*USE FIREFOX OR OPERA, DO NOT USE INTERNET EXPLORER...* Trust me on that one...
