I live 30 miles from Northampton. Northampton is very accepting of many lifstyles. Northampton is the home of Smith College, great restaurants, many artists and musicians. Property is a little expensive. There is a large number of gays/lesbians in and around the Northampton area. You and your family will be able to live your lives and not be judged for you are. I love visiting NOHO when I have the time. If you like, send me an e-mail and I can send you more info.

I went to Smith College, which is located in Northampton. It truly is a very accepting community. I would guess that the over half pop statistic is correct. You will certainly not be judged, you'll just be two Mommies that have a family. I would highly recommend it.

One of my best friends lives there now, and she verifies that there are a lot of GLBT people there, though I don't know about over half or how you could find that out. I have heard Northampton called a "lesbian mecca" and NoHo. It's also very very white, if that makes a difference to you.

I live about 45 minutes away from there and have been there millions of times. Yes there are a lot of gay's and lesbians there. There are also many straight people there too. It is a decent place but you are close to the city of holyoke where there are many drug problems.
p.s.
no, I am not gay.
