A batter is credited with a run batted in when a runner reaches home safely as a result of the "batter's safe hit, sacrifice bunt, sacrifice fly, infield out or fielder's choice; or which is forced over the plate by reason of the batter becoming a runner with the bases full (on a base on balls, or an award of first base for being touched by a pitched ball, or for interference or obstruction)."
A batter also gets an RBI when a base runner scores on an error with less than two outs and the runner would have scored on the play without the error.
The batter does not get an RBI when a run scores when the batter grounds into a force double play or a "reverse force" double play.
If a fielder holds the ball or throws to the wrong base, the scorer may decide not to credit the batter with an RBI.

You get an RBI by example there's one player in the third base and you actually hit the ball and the player who's in the third base runned all the way to home plate and scored and that's how you get an RBI.... Hope I Can Help!

youd get an rbi if you hit the ball for a hit or sac fly or bases loaded walk/HBP and someone crosses the plate. However NO RBI is scored if bases are loaded and the batter hits into a double play.

when someone gets a hit and someone crosses the plate. if you hit a solo home run, then you get 1 rbi. if you get a bases loaded triple, then you get 3 RBI. i'm pretty sure also that if you walk with the bases loaded you get an RBI, but i'm not too sure about that one.

you get a RBI when you hit the baseball and a run scores. you do not get a RBI if you hit into a double play and a run scores.
