The movie starred Sally Field. She is married to an Iranian and goes to Iran for a 2 wk holiday. He forces her to stay and completely changes from a loving husband to a violent man. The little girl who plays the daughter is excellent and the scenes in and around "Iran" were well filmed. I won't tell you the ending in case you haven't seen it yet. *****stars

Yes wasn't it a brilliant movie! I can't believe its a true story...The two women I would love to have a dinner conversation with has got to be either the true woman whom Sally Field played in Not Without my Daughter and Erin Brokinvich. ...

It raises a number of issues that I didn't really take notice beforehand. It really opens your mind...not many movies can do that...but this one does. Witness was another movie that was like that...and so was Joy Luck Club...

I give it *****

I saw the movie and read the book because I was really interested in how someone could do that to their family. He told his wife she could go ahead and leave but the daughter was staying with him. I knew there was no way in the world a mother would leave her child

No I havent seen that one, but sounds good. Try watching Nick of Time with Jonny Depp. That is a real good movie about a father and his daughter where he has to kill to save her life.

Yes and I read the book. The book was very hard to put down. You had to admire her courage to protect her daughter.
