My company was sold to a Dutch company 2001. Now it seems they are getting rid of employees they obtained when they purchased the company. What can be done about this?

Sorry, they have no obligation to you. It once happened to me. Pick yourself up and move on. For every action there is a reaction, make yours a positive one and one day you'll say, "They did me a favor". Good Luck!

Unfortunately, nothing. The company that originally hired you is no longer in existence, and the new company is not obligated to keep you as an employee.

Nothing, they are free to get rid of anyone they want.
