I think you have a right to be a little upset with her, but all you have to do is let her know that your feelings were hurt & that you really wished she could have spent time with you on your special day. Have you ever heard the saying that "When you are angry... either the person doesn't know that you are angry or... they don't care that you are angry?" So you are only hurting yourself when you are angry. What I'm trying to say is...I'm sure she would care that she hurt you, so just let her know how you feel & I'm sure she will try to make it up to you. You never know... her other friend may have been going through some changes in life & it just so happened to be at the same time as your b-day. Give your friend a chance to explain. Hopefully she will have a good explanation.

Sure, you can always be mad at someone.

Question is, will being mad do anything for you? Probably not.

Can you talk to your friend, without being mad, and find out why she didn't want to hang around with you on your birthday? Perhaps there's a reason that she's not telling you, because she knows you'd just get mad (or something).

You can be mad if you want to but, are you prepared to not have this friend in your life because you're pushing her away? People are not friends with each other unless they sometimes agree to disagree and each gives the other as much leeway in relationship as they seem to need. Be mad - or - FORGIVE. The choice is yours always. If you've a chance, talk with your friend and tell her/him how you felt. Don't do any blame/game either.

Of course!! She ditched u on your birthday! That's not what a good friend does, do be mad at her, and ask for an apology!! If she doesn't offer one, then don't ever talk to her again!! Believe me, if she can't even say "I'm sorry", then she's not a real friend. Good luck with it!
