When the scales are balanced. However it remains that minorities are are the least number of applicants and this is why conscious comparison is needed and equal access to the interview process granted.

If the world was fair, then only people qualified for a position would get it. The world is not fair, people are prejudiced. Everyone has a prejudice, whether it be hating green beans to hating a certain race or sexual preference. It is not right, it definitely is not fair, but it is the way it is. I'm all for affirmative action, as in twenty or so years, the White race, is going to be a minority in this country. That means my grandchildren, will have an edge over the Black, Spanish, or Asian candidates.

I think the same way. Racism and sexism will always exist. However, we shouldn't have racial quotas because that is racist and we should modify affirmative action so it can be helpful for minorities but it also brings equal opportunity for whites who are accomplish and deserve to be given jobs rather than an unaccomplish minority person.

If discrimination against one race is wrong, then discrimination against another race, even if trying to correct the first case of discrimination, is still wrong.
It's kind of like the courtroom dramas you see on TV where someone is accused of murder and the victim's father turns around and shoots the accused. It may seem like justice, but the victim's father is still murdering someone and will be arrested as such.
Remember, two wrongs don't make a right (but 3 lefts do).

I'm a white lady with a biracial son and I believe the way u do. But my son doesn't..I tried to get him in college with help of his race and he just about blew it. He said to me that he wanted to be on a equal playing field and with affirmative action he wasn't. So we did it his way and he got into college with what he needed. So I don't know what I think anymore...

I have seen it happen so many times in the past few years. It's totally unfair in some cases.
If you are right for the job, you should be appointed, no matter what you are - they should see who you are!!
