Yes I had a few HPT's that came back negative, and when I passed out I decided to go to the doctor who did a urine test in the Dr's office that was negative so he sent me for a blood test that was positive, the same week I was sent to see how far along I was as my periods weren't reliable and I was over 9 weeks. HPT's are always right when they say negative but when its positive its positive. It goes by the chemical HGC or something and it needs to be on average high as we carry it always it just increases once pregnant, some women have a high reading early, it all depends on the baby, not the women. My first born was negative on HPT's at 9 weeks but my daughter was positive at only 4 weeks.
But I also had the ring test and my son was really weak reading but my daughter really strong.

Good luck and best wishes

I'm not sure what a hpt test is,but if you mean a urine test yes it can come up negative even if you are pregnant,It could be your hormones aren't high enough to show up on the test.If your that worried a blood test should give you an answer.

I myself have always come up on a pregnancy test postive, but it may take a while because your levels of baby hormones might not be high enough to register. Normally, a HPT will show up within two weeks and is accurate if it says you are! However, you might want to get a blood test done to make sure! Its always scary when you don't know!! I myself am past date and I have carried two full term preg., but I never had a discharge in the beginning that I remember(implantation bleeding) and I myself am not sure! I would try and get a urine sample done at a local facility that offers free preg tests if you want to know soon. Just look around your area, they offer alot of help!! Hope this helps!! J

I can do one better than that. I tested POSITIVE on an HPT and had a hysterectomy 6 months BEFORE the test. Shows you how reliable they are doesn't it. OH but my then SIL tested negative (it was a two for one packet so as a joke I took one of the tests btw) anyway she tested negative an the following Monday tested positive on the test at the doctor's office.

Yes!!! Those tests are NOT a 100% acc. You need to go to a local Planned Parenthood or to your doctor to get a urine or better yet a blood test done to find out if you are in fact pregnant. Good Luck!!!
