Depending on when you discovered this and your sexual reaction to it, you may either be a transvestite or a crossdresser. Either way, the over whelming majority (including my ex husband) are straight.
You're g/f is going to have one of two reactions, she's either going to be turned on by it, or run screaming into the night telling everyone you know that you are a sick freak. Most straight women want men to take care of them(even when they are independent), and won't take kindly to your little kink. You are going to have to pay attention to how she is with other things, does she hate gays for instance? If she's homophobic, she is not going to understand that dressing in women's clothing does not make you gay at all.
If she takes to it, great but don't make it a part of your sex life all the time, that's one of the things that led to the end of my marriage. Also, don't think this is going away or you can control it. You can't. If she leaves you, start out looking for a kinky open minded woman who will be glad to dress you up and take advantage of you.

If it is a brand new gf you shouldn't tell her yet, but if you have been seeing her for more than a month you should tell her. Since many people think that all cross dressers are gay (most are straight), it might help if you had some information about it to help her understand this part of your personality.

At some point, you need to tell her. How you do it, that of course is up to you. Its Halloween time, so it may be OK to ask her what she feels about the subject and see what sort of reaction you get. If its part of your life, then you are going to be miserable for a long time if you cannot share it.

Most of the people here will tell you that you're a closet cross dresser. I say, you have a fetish, just like most of us here do. Telling your girlfriend is risky. You have to know first if she's open-minded and is okay to such fetishes. Try dropping her sublte hints and see how she reacts. It will depend on her reaction.

If you want her to be a part of your life, at some point, it's best to come clean about this.
So you're a cross dresser. Big deal. You're in the majority in terms of cross dressers. Most are straight guys.

Should you tell the gf. That's tough. She should accept all of you. After all, you do the same for her. If she is not comfortable with it, find someone who is.

you might tell her but do it VERY carefully. my advise would NOT be dressed when you do it. who knows, she might just say ok and then take you shopping for your own wardrobe to wear at home. then the next step would be to buy a wig, and breast forms to wear in public.

i would tell her...either she's ok with it and you have a great time....or or she's not ok with it but still wants to be your friend and go shopping together....so you have a great time or....she runs away.....2 out of 3...the odds are in your favor....
