The Outsiders
Great book! There is also a movie. I can't seem to think who it is by.

If you are in a serious reading mood, go for book sets, such as C.S Lewis', "The Chronicles of Narnia" which is a 7 book set. Or go for some horror during halloween. I definitely recommend Stephen King's "Needful Things" or "Storm of the Century".

If you're looking for something old then Dr. Faustus by Christopher Marlowe is good. If you're looking for horror, anything by Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Steven Spriull, or Kelley Armstrong will work. I also just read a young adult story called "The Road of The Dead" by Kevin Brookes, which was good if you're looking for something sort of mysterious.

I second The Outsiders. It is a good book and I believe appropriate for most ages- middle school through high school.
The Narnia series is good for any age also. I am presently reading it to my 10 year old. My mother (who reads all the time) recently read the series and loved it. I mean she just went on and on gushing about it.

You don't give enough info. You've listed this under homework help, so I'm guessing you have to choose a book for a report or project. Before making recommendations, though, I'd need your age or grade, your gender, what type of class/report this is for and what you enjoy.

The book that I LOVE to read is:
Uncle John's Unstoppable Bathroom Reader
...it's a series.
A really good book...and yes, I know it's a weird book name but IT IS A REAL BOOK.
and you don't have to read in the bathroom only of course.

If you're into fantasy, I reccomend "His Majesty's Dragon" by Naomi Novik.
