AWESOME QUESTION! kudos to you!
IN MY OPINION
when an embryo(fetus) is capable of existing outside the host it is a person.
I am pro-choice but personally have reservations about the current abuse of abortion. if you want my specific reservations then ask. I do not believe in ELECTIVE abortions after 16 weeks.

"Very few infants survive birth at 22 weeks' gestation, and most are offered "comfort care" instead of intensive care."

2005=Medical News Today reported:
"The review found that a fetus's neurological pathways in its brain that allow for the 'conscious perception of pain' do not function until after 28 weeks' gestation."

Abortion is not a new thing.

Stem cell research-I am all for it.

different states have made different laws about this, that keep changing over time ... from a sociological point of view, since u put this in this category, we could say it becomes a human life the moment it is born, till then it is just an embryo inside u, u feel it but u cant touch it, u see an ultrasound image but u can barely make out what u see, when the baby is born and u take it in your hands only then u realise it is a living human ... a life in your hands, then u really realise "life".

any answer depends on what u define as "LIFE", too many different definitions ... medical, legislative, religious, sociological, psychological, philosophical ... none is right ... none is wrong

At the moment the Ovum (female egg cell) is fertilized by the male sperm: As soon as the sperm breaks threw and enters the Ovum,the baby begins to form,because at that moment the cells begin to divide that will eventually become a baby.
