I'm thinking about reading "The Castle of Otranto" but I don't want to waste my time. Any advice please!

I'm looking for a book set a couple centuries ago.

Also, which story in H.P. Lovecraft's "Weird Tales" is your favorie/best to read?

I love gothic time period books by Libba Bray. Think, "Interview With The Vampire."

Dracula by Bram Stoker. It's both a gothic romance, and about vampires! And it's very famous.

gothic, as in dark and mysterious, or as in time period? i do have some suggestions for both:

modern time setting: anything by laurell k. hamilton (Anita Blake series rocks as does her Merry Gentry series), Carpathian series by Christine Feehan.

time period: i personally like Jane Eyre. For the life of me, i cannot remember the author.

hope this helps! :)
