Men aren't judged nearly as harshly and I hate to see women who've Botoxed, lipoed and changed everything about themselves to fit some idea as to how we "should" look! And God help you if you are not striving to fit this "look". No man will love you or find you attractive. Ladies, we need a "Don't Believe the Hype" Day! Beauty comes in all forms, shapes, sizes, colors and races. If we could learn to self accept, we'd be that much healthier psychologically. That's one of the important lessons my mom taught me, and one I want to pass on to my daughter. Tell your little girls that they are beautiful and don't need to change a thing!!!!

I agree with you but when was the last time you saw a flat chested, thin lipped, bifocal wearing, split end possessing or wig wearing, overweight or undernourished,teeth quite not right leading lady. Think about it.

It is a very unfortunate thing to see so many women young and older question their physical worth. Not that there is one person or institution to blame but it doesnt help that the only image that is seen is young and thin and extremely attractive. Hollywood is beautiful, that unfortunately has become the American way. It is no longer in style to voice that uniqueness is beautiful that confidence is beautiful and that taking care of yourself, whatever that self may have been blessed with is a beautiful thing. If God only thought there to be one form of beauty he would've made us all look exactly the same but he didnt because our God is a God of variety, he knows and wishes that we would understand that he made us all in his likeness and that our differences express his creativity. Ladies we are beautiful whatever our beauty entails, it is written....and destined and confirmed....celebrate what you have to offer and cherish it... I'm glad that someone addressed that....

because the people who get all the surgery and stuff to lok good dont want someone who will respect them deep down they only want to be eyecandy or one night stands because they think thats what women should want. they want as much attention from all the people they can instead of real afection from one or two people. today for instence i ran in to an old friend who i havnt seen for a few months and we talked a little bit before she wasnt very prety but still a good friend and a nice girl but now she cut her hair wears her makeup differently and has some new clothes and she is realy pretty even tho its not like "DAMN SHE IS HOT" when you first see her you sit with her or hang with her for like 3 or 4 mins and you see she is realy attractive now. all im saying is girls just needa find a look that flatters their features instead of change their features to match the look they want. almost any one can be attractive you just have to find what makes you look good to other people and work with what you have. dont change what you have to what you think you want.

Plastic surgery was meant for repairing burn victims, and repairing skin grafts from a person who have been badly injured. Now today plastic surgery is used for many things,from repairing cuts, burns, and even to altar someones appearance. You can tell your daughters all day how beautiful they are, but once they hit teenage stage, nothing in the world will convince them they are who they are. Only their peer's will be their only mirror.

But you are talking about a minority, and so I would like to suggest that your question includes the word "some" at the very least!
Anyway, I blame most of these social stereotypes on the media, "they" are in your mind deeper than you will ever know!?!?!
So If I have to break it down, we are told we need to be "beautiful" and also told the expectations of this so called beauty, how are we not supposed to want. . . . . . .

I have no intention of ever getting anything like that done, unless I was to get re-constructive surgery if I was in an accident and some part of my body or face got horribly disfigured.
I think it's sick, this plastic surgery "addiction".

It is just due to their ignorance.Whether any lady has been left out without marriage because she is not beautiful.Trying to get beauty is against "ZORASTER,RAMA,BUDDHA,CHRIST AND ALLAH."
