NO IT IS NOT!!!!
It is a beta version! The only reason that there have been no big stories about it so far is that it takes a few weeks for even the best hacker to find an exploit.
Microsoft have not released the code to allow any AV company to allow possible weak spots to be found quickly by the likes of Symantec and Norton. If they are relying on their hackers to try to break the system then you can be guaranteed that there are people with 10 times the skills the AV companies have who are trying 24 hours a day to find an exploit that no-one knows about. Hackers make more cash than AV employees. Who do you think will be first to find the weaknesses?

As far as I know its perfectly safe, but I downloaded it and then decided to revert back to IE6 because I found IE7 was too slow and in fact it didn't seem to be better. There is a 'tabs' feature which could make things a bit easier but other than that I would just stick with your current one. To be honest its not worth downloading it.

They say it will be safer than ie6 but i personally dont believe it will be any better ,considering that every hacker in the world would love to bring it down.
I would rather go the firefox route
