Too many people are jealous of one-another. Peace will never exist, not by man's hand anyway.

Define peace.

I'll bet that if you point to any 10 year period in those 300, I can find a war somplace. I would futher bet that those "300" years of so-called peace didn't include areas outside of Europe and the North American continent.

Who was tracking how much pease the Ancient Incans were enjoying, or the Aztecs or the Cree? How much peace did the Chinese get from the Mongolians? Or the Southeast Asians from the Chinese? Is India included in those 300 years? How is peace measured in the Zulu culture? Or the Tuareg?

No. Has anyone ever got on your nerves or up in your grill? Then you get pissed and you take it out on someone. This is why world peace will never come. I don't believe that bull crap about 300 years of peace because somewhere along the way, there must have been conflicts between somebody, don't you think? It's logical to infer that peace never existed. But can we find peace? Maybe. There's a lot of peaceful people and peaceful nations, but peace itself will never endure.

World wide peace?

Never. Ever.

And we certainly haven't had 300 years.

It is impossible for every single person to live in harmony with every single other person. It will never happen and the sooner we can realise that and stop trying to work out how to make it happen, the better.

To achieve worldwide peace, every single person would need to accept, understand and live with the beliefs, views and practices of everyone else.

Some people are ignorant enough to hate Muslims or black people or gay people.

Some people are murderers - not many people can live with a murderer, but that's not a peaceful attitude, is it? And locking them up or electrocuting them to death won't help.

Peace? No, sorry.

Exactly who's had 300 year of peace? I think that is bullocks. World peace will only exist after mankind has been wiped out by some disease or by some weapon of mass destruction. There is no way everyone will sit down and agree on not fighting. There are over 6.5 billion people on this planet, and we are using it as if we were 6.5 million or so.

I used to think not.

However, I read a very interesting and thought-provoking book by Arthur C. Clarke, who is now living in Sri Lanka. The title is 3001: The Final Odyssey.

It postulates that human societies will find how to isolate the social evils that plague humanity, and will progress from there to unite the earth under one council, such as the United Nations.

Read the book. It says it better than I can.

I don't believe so. With better technology, greater knowledge and a larger population people have become less patient, less tolerant and greddier.
