Kobe Bryant
Injury note on Oct 1, 2006 (Knee - expected for regular season)
Oct 27 Bryant missed the Lakers' 126-108 preseason loss to the Nuggets on Thursday, although he was on the court working out before the game. He took some perimeter shots, but his jumping was restricted. He also did a series of starts and stops and some lateral drills, but appeared to be in severe pain.
No decision has been made as to whether Bryant, recovering from surgery on his right knee in July, will be able to play in next Tuesday night's season opener against the Phoenix Suns at Los Angeles. "I don't know if I can get that specific, but what Kobe's expressed to me is that he still has problems striding out -- just getting out and running," assistant coach Kurt Rambis said.
MY TWO CENTS
Frankly im not a fan of Kobe more of a Gilbert Arenas person, but hes good i think Kobe Bryant is the best in the league right now. I also think Kobe will be starting for the game because of such a competitor he is...just like Allen Iverson, and Michael Jordan no matter the injury they were always out there unless if it were too serious. So i think Kobe will be starting in the begining of the season.

Lakers coach might say know because Kobe has an ego the size of the court. He practiced twice in 5 months after last year's playoffs ended. He said he doesn't need practice. Guy's got the biggest ego of any player i've every seen.

4 the guy who said kobe said he doesn' need practice, that's bull.
Kobe will play, maybe start, and he'll hopefully rule the courts against Raja Bell. I think Bell should've gotten suspended for more than one game in the playoffs.
