I mainly remember the cartoons, but then again I was a kid back then (born in 1966), and kind of a geeky little fart at that.

But then again, television was *GOOD* for geeks in the 70s...lots of science fiction, Star Trek, Six Million Dollar Man, Space 1999, Battlestar Galactica (the *original*! with ROBOTIC Cylons dang it!), and lots of replays late at night of old Godzilla flicks, the Heston sci-fi stuff (Soylent Green, The Omega Man, and need I mention..._The Planet of the Apes_??)....

Oh, and some *weird* little cartoons from Japan, stuff like Speed Racer (go Chim-Chim!), Astro Boy, and something called _Robotech_ that I never could catch more than two episodes of in a *row* at any given time....

(of course my sisters had to go and ruin it with all their feminist crap, "Electro-Woman and Dyna-Girl" on Saturday mornings and Wonder Woman in the evenings, not to mention, as the decaded wound down into the 1980s and we could occasionally afford that new-fangled Home Box Office thing on Subscription...ermm, *cable* TV that is, we got movies. Meaning my sisters made me sit through _Grease_ some 46 times....grr....arrgh, the pain, the pain....like my mind wasn't already warped halfway to hell with Barbarella on the brain.)

So yeah, I remember the 70s, or at least the TV, back when it didn't suck too terribly bad (or if it did it sucked in a cheesy way). As for the rest, I was either too young, or too much the geeky fat kid with glasses and asthma to really have a whole lot else going on....

(just don't get me started on H.R. Puff'N'Stuff....creepy it was, *flutes do NOT bend that way and talk*)

Oh boy .. do I!

My son was born in '69...a week after my husband left for Viet Nam (he returned in 1970, thank you, Lord!), then my daughters were born in '72 and '75 .

My kids and I had such great fun growing up together! Especially after I enlisted in the Navy .. camping, fishing, hiking, exploring .. we were and are the best of friends.

Before I enlisted, I worked with my parents' stage lighting and sound company .. that means I worked every big concert that came to the southwest in the 60's 70's .. including the Stones' first American tour, Fleetwood Mac and Aerosmith when they were warm up bands ... the inimitable Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Gracie Slick .. even Johnny Cash and Bob Hope.

Gas was .. perhaps ... 30 cents per gallon.

I even learned to dance .. and taught disco in the late 70's (just don't tell my grandkids!!)

oh yeah.. the 70's were extraordinary!

Yes, I remember them. I was born in 1965 so I remember a lot of the stuff from the 70's. Now the 80's, that's a different story. I did a lot of partying then, so I probably don't remember as much as I should.

If you do remember the 70's, you were not where it was at.

Yes, I started Junior High in 1970 and Graduated High School in 1976. I remember the "Energy Crisis" of 1974 which caused extremely long lines at the ga$ pump! (It was man made back then, too!) We got PONG the very first home video game. We had to attach it to the TV to be able to play it. My three siblings and I really enjoyed that thing!!!

Yes, cruising downtown in your chevelle or baracuda. Exchanging phone numbers at intersections...egads ! Having an 8 track in your car showed some status, especially if you had an 8 track recorder at home and made your own 8 tracks (from the radio of course..lol ) Spiked watermelons in the park at picnics. Walking to school was not unheard of. My new shag hair cut which made me cool. egads again ! Butterfly collars, bell bottoms, hip huggers, army jackets, peace signs, headbands, leather or fringe jackets, wow ! Boys had silk shirts and buttoned them only half way, how cool was that ! ha ha..
Mood rings, the whole family sitting at the kitchen table for dinner. Stools to sit on next to the phone because they were corded and some conversations took forever (w/ no call waiting !!) Operators had to cut in the line for emergencies.

Wow... ok..I'm back now from memory lane...Thanks !

Sure. Everything from my red hot, protest motivated, drug driven, free love enjoyin', long haired hippie days to gas shortages, a rude awakening, a shave and a hair cut, pug ugly wide ties and going back to work. Some fun, I'll say.
