I for one don't want my tax dollars going to support a pill head addicted to valium, pain pills, etc..Thank God Hellary wasn't successful in her effort to enable the druggies... but then she wasn't successful at anything was she? Hellary's scary. Libs romanticize Socialism without understanding the facts. Does anyone know how long the wait is to be treated in emergency rooms or get appointments with doctors in Canada, and select European countries?

It has nothing to do with drug addiction. Suppose this happened:
You or someone you loved is in a very bad car accident and they suffer a brain injury. After a week in the hospital, the family is told that their health insurance has run out. However, the injured person is so severely disabled, he or she needs 24 hr. care. What do you do? Gee, I guess you suck it up and take the person home and spend the rest of your life bathing, diapering, and caring for that person night and day.
That's why we need better healthcare.

Dumb question but I will answer you anyway. It isn't free health care, somebody has to pay for it and we will do that with our taxes. It is not for the drugs. 45 million people out of 300 million people have no access to health care. In the long run this cost more for the taxpayer then health care for every one. Take the insurance company's profit out of health care and impose mandatory prices at the former insurance company's prices and you have health care for everyone.
The war in Iraq, an unnecessary one at best cost 10 billion a month, 120 billion a year. Would that not be enough for everybody to get get health care?

So do you actually think before you speak or are you just stupid. We are one of the only government that does not supply people with free health care. Not everyone that does not have health care is a junkie some of us have serious issues which make us non insurable. I have Lupus. Since I can not afford to pay for my medicine I will probably die from Systemic Lupus. That doesn't make me a junkie. That makes you a selfish child who thinks she knows something about an issue which she clearly has done no research on before forming an opinion.

Not all healthcare is going to drug addicts. Many will go to low-income people and children whose parents can't afford proper medical care. I'm not a liberal but I think that good medical care for everybody is a must to protect our citizens. I think we should exclude valium and other anti-depressant drugs of free healthcare.

If you want to think about something really, really scary - consider the same bureaucracy that is responsible for our "simplified" federal tax codes, our Social Security funds and our immigration and naturalization services being in charge of our health concerns,,,,,,,,,,,,scary, eh?

Ummm.... I don't know if you know this but you still need a prescription to get drugs.
Also, there's different ways to handle universal health care. There isn't one system that works everywhere. Canada's won't work here just like the UK one won't work in Canada.
