How much less? So if I've got an excellent signal then I'll be able to get full speed?

Wireless G will support up to 54mb so you should not have any issue as long as you get a connection of at least 8mb

Wireless networks are far faster than any ADSL or Cable you can buy. 802.11g is 54mb per second. As this is higher than your internet connection speed, you will always be able to get the maximum your internet connection can offer. The only down side of wireless networks is the speed between computers on the network, not the one going out onto the internet

The router is compatable with higher speeds than 8mb, but using a wireless connection lowers your internet speed. You may not notice unless your a speed freak, but nothing is as fast as cabled internet still. You can probably get equivilant to about 5mb broadband, but you can get boosters.. to boost your range..and strength of the signal.

As long as you're wired directly into the router with a cable, you should be able to get the full speed of the connection. If you're wireless, it'll be much less depending on the strength of your signal.

Your router will handle anything up to 54 Mb. so you will be fine, i was worried about the same thing, but your problem will be the sites you visit not your connection, most sites restrict their speed, its cheaper on them, we pay for speed but we are still limited by the ones we want to see, enjoy your surfing and enjoy the speed you get, sooner or later we will win the battle of speed, Good luck.
