It's ignorant people commenting that you look Japanese and delicately beautiful. Take it for what it's worth: stupid people saying you're pretty. There are worse things.

Also, geishas are NOT prostitutes. They are basically paid entertainers that are trained in dancing, art, playing music, and light conversation. As proof of this, the first geisha were MEN - basically clever conversationalists who could entertain tired businessmen with dancing, jokes, playing instruments, etc.

When men go to tearooms, they enjoy the company of geishas and drink, flirt, have a good time.

Then they go someplace else if they want a prostitute.

I would have to see you to understand why they're saying this - do you perhaps dress in a vibrant fashion? Wear heavy makeup? Elaborate hairdo? Maybe, based on the images of Geisha in that film, they find you sophisticated/classy... the Geisha were very much concerned with beauty, tradition, grace, elegance, and entertainment... you may see some traits you share in them, if looked at from an objective view.

I guess that is more or like saying you look like a classy prostitute.

I would be 80% offended, 20% flattered.
