You know the Big Bang?? Well, people say that ever since then, the universe has been spreading out from it's location ever since it's taken place. There is a theory that after the universe will get smaller again, and shrink back. I was thinking about this, and I came up with a theory of my own: after the universe is done shrinking, it will fold back into itself, and the Big Bang will happen again, only this time with different results. Like maybe Earth will still be here, but humans don't exist and the planet is ruled by giant, talking, sentient bugs, or something like that. Maybe we'll all exist, but the sun will blow up tomorrow. Kind of like the alternate dimension theory, only it's the same dimension, and it's all happenign on the same timeline. Sorry if I confused you, I just had to get this out.

You got it, Dalgirl. That's the inevitable result if the universe crashes back into itself. The downside is we'll never know exactly how it turns out - each big bang obliterates information about the previous incarnations. Great food for thought, however.

the way a theory is shaped and is universally widespread takes time. The video is fairly informative yet i visit describe how a hypothesis turns right into a theory. 1st data are amassed up. those data are irrefutable yet they do no longer clarify a technique or a sort of prevalence. Ex. The sky is blue. fact. despite the fact that it would not clarify how the sky grew to alter into blue. 2d Step is to collect greater data to form an selection hypothesis. There are 2 kinds of hypothesis null and selection. To simplify the null hypothesis says the alternative hypothesis is fake. Ex. The sky is blue using fact God made it that way. it extremely is the alternative hypothesis. on account that God isn't a fact nor could be shown the alternative hypothesis is rejected and null hypothesis is widespread that "God did no longer make the sky blue". third Step is that if an selection hypothesis is authentic then that's examined back and back. Ex. Erik Erikson psychosocial developmental theory. The hypothesis to Erik Erikson's theory is then examined back and back. evidently the theory is precise. 4th as quickly as theories are examined back and back it replace into widespread via the scientific community. despite the fact that it would not propose a theory is often a hundred% appropriate. If some scientists come across some flaws the theory slowly turns into changed. Ex. Freud theory of penis envy in little women. This theory might have been widespread an prolonged time in the past interior the toddler tiers of psychology yet in on the instant's international it form of feels ridiculous. theory is examined back and back. it extremely is changed slowly and provides an outstanding rationalization of issues. merely using fact something is unknown would not propose that's an act of God. that's a hypothesis yet to be proposed, examined, and alter into theory. technological know-how is often evolving.

I completely agree. This has been something that I have been thinking on for a long time. I would take it a step further and say that the big bang will continue to happen for infinity. Which means eventually, every person alive today will live the exact life all over again at some infinitesimal point in the future, with maybe a few minor changes. The ugly will be beautiful, the pretty will be ugly, that type of stuff.

I've heard a theory like this before. The idea was that, when the universe starts to shrink, it will shrink too like sub-microcosm and then expand again with time going on as usual all the way. The other is the same except time goes backwards when the universe shrinks. Your theory sounds plausible enough. God knows stranger things have happened.

The shrinking universe theory is wrong as the universe expansion is accelerating! So little chance of the yo-yo theory working. As for the planet being ruled by talking bugs, it already is (aka politicians)!!!

Your theory has been developed before over the years. Basically, what you're describing is the Big Crunch. James Blish wrote a series of novels, the last of which had the protagonists trying to get to the zero point in order to influence the shape of the next universe after the Big Crunch.
There's nothing specifically wrong with your theory. However, observations suggest that the expansion of the universe is accelerating. This suggests that unless there is a significant increase in the self-gravity of the universe, the Big Crunch is not likely to happen.
Good try, though. I like to see someone being able to use critical thinking with science rather than just accepting the status quo.

my brother and i were just talking about this the other day,we were picturing it going in fast forward and since time is infinite this may have happened thousands or millions of times.or we could be in the first one. ps just to let you know one of the greatest scientific minds on our planet Steven Hawking was puzzled by this very notion too.he called it "the big crunch"

Yeah it makes about as much sense as the big bang theroy.
I mean the thing I have never been able to figure out is how everything works together perfectly if it all came from a giant explosion. It makes more sense that someone created the world and created everything to work together so well.

You seem intelligent and curious about this. I would recommend reading The Tao of Physics, Schroedinger's Cat, The Etheric Double by C W Leadbeater, research the theory of the six realms in the buddhist and Bon religions, etc. There's a lot more to learn about this. People call it myth and religion because they can't fathom it as being actual, physical fact.

It's good that you think about these sorts of things. That puts you in a minority of people in the world.
However, don't get ahead of yourself. Just about every variant of the end of the universe has already been contemplated and named, even:

Big Crunch: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Crunch
