I was diagnosed with poly cystic ovarian syndrome and have a DNC done on Tuesday because I was bleeding excessively and had intolerable cramps. After I had my surgery I was in so much pain afterwards that I had to get four doses of morphine just for it to go away. My problem is that I am still experiencing HORRIBLE abdominal pain and NOTHING is helping. I have tried Motrin, Tylonyl 3, and Vicodin and I still have pain plus I am starting to bleed again. I spoke w/ a doctor today and he just suggested that I keep taking the motrin. (I am on birtth control whcih I have been on for almost a month, it does not control the bleeding or cramps) I have missed weeks and weeks of work and my work is dropping everyone's health insurance the end of November. I have to borrow money from my mom for my bills and co-pay's and I'm really depressed. Does anyone know what I could do and if I could be eligible for disability or medicaid? Does anyone know about Poly cystic and what I can do to resolve this?

Go to Web MD, Mayo Clinic or National Institute of Health website for info re: your polycystic ovarian problem. Try a consultation with another gyn specialist. If necessary, try a pain management clinic...but usually you need an MD referral for this. Do while you still have insurance. Meanwhile, here are some things you can do to increase the effectiveness of your pain meds:
1. Do deep breathing exercises as often as possible. Breathe in to a slow count of 4, hold for a slow count of 4, breathe out for a slow count of 4. Repeat several times.
2. Starting with your feet, clench muscles for a count of 5, then relax. Do all the way up your body to your neck, one set of muscles at a time.
3. Visualization exercise: picture yourself some place where you have been happy in the past. Paint a mental picture, sketching in as many details as possible. The more you are focused on the memory, the less you will focus on the pain.
4. Listen to quiet music, classical or new age. Dean Evenson, Enya, Tim Janis are among my favorites.
All of these things help; I have chronic pain, and use this techniques; if you can relax the rest of your body, the pain meds will work better. Good luck.

Sorry I don't know how the payment system works for your healthcare system.
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is an uncommon endocrine disorder leading to the formation of cysts in the ovaries.
See the wiki page
WRT the pain relief - you can keep trying the motrin, tylenol and vicodin - use a hot pack or hot water bottle on your tummy and have a bit of a rest.
Drink plenty of water.
If it is too bad, go to the hospital ED - do it before your insurance runs out :)

That, and having a "Sciatic Nerve" pinched through a bulging or slipped Disc to your again. I had that, and it's through-a ways the worst anguish I have ever felt in my lifestyles. A nurse instructed me she had the identical factor a few years again, and mentioned it was once worst than whilst she had a youngster. Thats what she mentioned in any case, I might no longer recognize in my opinion. I recognize I were Shot, Stabbed, Beat-on, Burned, normally the whole lot you'll consider of in my a long time in this earth, and the Sciatic-Nerve in my again being pinched was once absolutely the worst anguish I have ever persevered in my lifestyles. I truthfully might no longer speak, stroll, and even consider of something besides loss of life so the anguish might give up, It was once that dangerous I swear to you. Excruciating does no longer even appear an right phrase to me. It was once Hell. I have had three surgical procedures in view that then to repair it, and it is higher now thank God. That was once the worst time in my lifestyles, and I can best Pray I by no means have got to cross via something like that once more. My-God was once that terrible. I shudder to even consider of the anguish I was once in. Anyways, that's what it's to me in my opinion. Other's have there possess proposal on what was once painfull to them, And a few folks can take anguish allot higher than others you recognize what I imply? It all depends upon the character, And how they understand anguish I believe. Hope this responded your query in any case. Take Care

You should still not be in so much pain. Also your bleeding should have slowed down considerably. You need to go back to the doctor or the ER.
