Bullfrogs have no toxins in their skin and are cute in the looks department! However, the reason they are not offered often in pet stores is because they are extremely excitable and experience has shown that they spend their time desperately trying to escape their enclosures. This ends up in svere injuries to the frog and often ends in starvation from stress and/or death from their injuries.
There has been an Albino strain of Bullfrog (both american and Asian) offered for sale over the past several years. These are captive born animals many of which have been pellet trained for feeding. They are often available as young froglets which tend to be less excitable and take to captivity better.

I'm not sure about this, but I seem to remember reading that bullfrogs can give off a very irritating oily substance when they feel threatened, which, if I were a bullfrog, would be any time some large thing (like a human) came after me with their hand.
It's also possible that, like those tiny turtles, they aren't sold because of disease issues (I'm thinking salmonella?)

bullfrogs would be a waste of time to sell at a petstore. they would have to pay to take care of them and the most they could probably sell them for is $10. Also, bullfrogs arn't that atractive and not many people would buy them.
