To me, it starts with the initial attration, that spark when you meet someone that really interests you, that you want to know. The first while of course, is exciting, almost euphoric. You can't get enough of each other. The person seems almost flawless. And then the euphoria starts to fade as you get to really know each other. Your faults, quirks, and little things that make each person individual, unique and special start to show. As you become closer, you share these things with each other, and allow yourself to become vulnerable to pain, because until you really let go, and allow yourself to fall, it won't happen...but if you do, it can be amazing. You cannot begin to imagine how scary it is to allow yourself to need someone else, but also how wonderful it feels to be needed. To allow you, to become an us. To come home from a long hard day, worked to the bone, and have it all dissapear when you see that warm smile, and feel that familiar embrase. To care more about someone else than yourself, and having them feel the same way, knowing it just by a look.

Its about laughter, not like when you laugh at a joke, but like when you laugh at yourself, only having someone to share it with, making it that much better. It allowing yourself to be yourself, like how you are in your most private moments, like when you dance and sing in front of a mirror, only instead of a mirror, you have someone else being just a silly. Its midnight talks about anything and everything, and also the silent moments, but not alone. Its allowing yourself to cry your eyes out, but having someone rub your back. Its a smile, a look, a touch. Its being happy, scared, excited and every other emotion all wrapped in one. The warm feeling you get inside after hearing a familiar voice, when your feeling alone.

Its growing together, building, sharing. Its asking "how was your day?" and really wanting to hear the answer. Its about little surprizes, and wanting to make someone as happy as you can imagine, and the feeling you get when you see them smile, knowing you were successful. Its laughing out loud in a store, or your car, or at work, remembering something funny that you two shared, and that silly smile you get when your "special someone" just seems to pop into your head. Its when something wonderful or exciting happens to you and you can't wait to share it....... and also, when something terrible happens, allowing them to ease your grief.

Its a little note, a moonlite stroll, a pasionate kiss, a message. Its allowing the world to stop, even if only for a moment to say, "How are ya doing" Its being apart, but still having the comfort of knowing your an us.

Its spontanuity, and plans, sharing friends and holding hands. Its the happy feeling you get when you see them succeed, and the pain you feel when you watch them fall. Its being scared when their scared, but being their crutch, and allowing them to be yours.

Its the most amazingly wonderful, strange, scary, best feeling in the world, and cherishing it when you find it.

love is the one person who u say a prayer for every night even if it is 3 am. Love is when you u would give up everything when you think of them. Love is the reason that you wake up every morning. Love is the one person who can make you smile when ur not in the mood to smile. Love is the sunlight on a cloudy day. Love is like breathing . How can u stop????

There is no real answer to this question but what I have learned of what love is to me and that is the word LOVE itself holds the answer.......

(L)isten: and validate them by hearing and empathizing.
(O)verlook: their minor character flaws as they will overlook yours.
(V)alue: who they are and what they mean to you.
(E)xpress: how you love them not just with words but with actions.
