I think it's because sarcasm isn't considered a part of grammar, and because sarcasm is more in the delivery of words than the typing or writing of words. I think that a way to put sarcasm into dialogue in a story you are writing or typing is to do that slant thingy to the words. Do italics (I think that's what it's called[?]). If they invented a sarcasm mark it would revolutionalize writing and it would have a tilted line or zigzag or something. Oh yeah, and it's not 'explanation mark,' it's 'exclamation mark.'

I don't know what a sarcasm mark would look like. I think that there should be one though.

If you cannot recognize sarcasm without a punctuation mark to identify...the joke is probably always on you.

"i'm caught between a rock and a complicated place" isn't sarcasm...its a euphemism quite meaning " no remember how i glance on the area i'm f*cked. while somebody asks " what do you recommend?" it does no longer recommend they want to renowned the place you're placed or what you're talking approximately precisely..they're asking what the project is in step with se genius, * rolls eyes* < now THAT area became sarcasm.

'cause good sarcasm requires thought and proper spelling along with grammar. If we had a symbol for it too many morons would use it incorrectly. Then it would lose its effect.
